Time of My Life Lyrics - David Cook
I’ve been waiting for my dreams
To turn into something
I could believe inAnd looking for that
Magic rainbowOn the horizon
I couldn’t see it
Until I let go
Gave into love and watched all the bitterness burn
Now I’m coming aliveBody and soul
And feelin’ my world start to turn
And I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loudI know this is the time,
This is the time
To be more than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life
Holding onto things that vanished
Into the air
Left me in pieces
But now I’m rising from the ashes
Finding my wings
And all that I needed
Was there all along
Within my reach
As close as the beat of my heart
So I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time to be
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life
And I’m out on the edge of forever
Ready to runI’m keeping my feet on the ground
My arms open wideMy face to the sun
I’ll taste every moment
And live it out loud
I know this is the time,
This is the time to be
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
I know this is the time
This is the time of my life
Time of my life
More than a name
Or a face in the crowd
This is the time
This is the time of my life.
This is the time of my life.
This song is so appropriate to me! Today, I just got the nod of my manager in the US telling me to change the cost center of my department. This is really a BIG move!

Primal Fear
I just happen to see an old movie, Primal Fear. A 1996 film, starred by Richard Gear and Edward Norton, who was then I think just new in Hollywood. This two great actors really gave their best in terms of their acting. It was so fluid.
The story is about an altar boy, Aaron (Edward Norton), who goes into trial for a heinous crime of murdering an Archsbishop. The Archsbishop was murdered, received 78 stab wounds by use of a huge knife. Aaron was charge of murder because he was seen by the police running away from the crime scene, his clothes all covered with blood. The police made him the prime suspect since all the evidence are pointing against him. When the news broke out, he was publicly tried and made believe that he did the murder. Marty Vail (Richard Gere), a hotshot lawyer, who took the case, not because of money, but because he wants to prove that he can win an unwinnable case.
As Marty investigated the case, he was able to dig up a lot of unseemingly events that he himself was shocked. There was an involvement of a priest keeping a video tape of a sexual acts of an altar boys and a girl. There was also a case of multiple personality of the accused. There is also an involvement of a filthy rich land developer who was cut out of funds by the catholic church.
Marty started to believe that the accused never did the crime. He believed that a boy who looks so innocent could not do such a crime because of his weakling personality. Then he discovered that the boy is sick. Aaron has a case of multiple personality. That there is another persona in him (and calls it Roy), who does all the opposite.
Every scene will make you think if Aaron is really innocent or not. The face of Norton helps further to give the viewing audience that he might not have done the crime. Not to mention, the character of Gere, who 100% believes that the boy is innocent.
In this movie, they showed that lawyers work on three things: facts, evidences and testimonies.
Somehow, it makes me feel bothered if all the trials made in the court room are really given proper justice. I just wonder if all the people who were accused of a crime where heard truthfully by the judges or the jury. Are they really presenting all evidences? Are they not hiding or manipulating the truth. Does the justice system really only hears and never sees the person accused?
I know that it is really easy for people to judge other people. Regardless if its a good thing or a bad thing. Each time that I feel like judging someone, I'm always reminded by this:
"Matthew 7:1, "Judge not, that you will be not judged."

Poker
I have been playing Governor of Poker for the past few days. It's a very exciting game. First, it does not cost me any money. Second, I play it online for free. Last, it entices my strategic skills.
People only know poker as a gambling game. For me its not. It's a very strategic game. You have to know what the other players hands are. You must also be good in remembering things because you have to analyze how many times the cards are being dealt.
Before, I really do not know any card games besides solitaire. I do not gamble because I know that once you get the hang of it, it will be very addictive. Though, I know people will say "it's just a matter of will-power!" They say this because they are not in the situation.
In gambling once you felt that you are winning a lot of money and lady luck is at your side, you will definitely find more ways to bet and win big.
For me I think gambling is similar to life. You have to know your cards well. Like in life you have to know your strenghts and weeknesses. Knowing oneself will definitely make you survive in this challenging life. The same goes on knowing your opponents cards. You have to know their strenghts and weaknesses. At some point, you have to be friends with your enemies and be wary about your friends.
Gambling is like life. You have to know when to fold. You have to know people around you. The same with gambling, we also call God to let us win in our struggles in life.

The sad truth about life and gambling? In gambling we thank God and all the saints when we win. In life, once we receive our blessings, we forget to thank God.

My digi art

Hi,
This is the only way I can actually beat stress. Create a digi art and give life to my dreams.
By the way, this is my daughter. I took her picture using my Motorola cellphone. A few brush, lights, crops, and sorts and made it to this.
On the other picture, I extracted my wife together with my kid and pasted it on the opera in Australia. I tried my best to look as if they were there. Many would say more improvement should be done. But just like what I told you, this is just to beat stress.

Its starting to make sense
When my "manager" told me about handling challenged people in our work, I told her that would be great! I love developing people, specially those who slowly catch up on things. It has always been an opportunity for me to show my coaching skills. Once becomes successful, it will be listed under my achievement list.
I am enjoying my job since my schedule is from 8am-5pm. Then this offer came and I accepted it after they pressed my ever so reliable "proud" button.
Then just last week, it all sinked it to me. I should've asked pertinent questions before I accepted it. The sad part, its on the night shift. Some people would say, that would be fine! There are a lot of advantages being on the NS. Mainly, the additional 15% night differential. Some also says that it will be an easy travel from work to home. I will be able to avoid traffice jam.
I worked on the night shift before. It's still different when you work on a day shift. But anyway, I have to accept this because I do not have a choice.
A sad fact
Do you disagree with any of these "facts"? Justify your answer. The following was posted in another forum: 50 Facts about the Philippines Dapat ba akong magalit sa kanya (to the person who sent the poster this list) sa pagsampal sa akin sa katotohanan? That Philippines is...

Wish List
Here we are now! The first task. At first people would say "that would be easy!" But lo, by the time you start to think you will feel your brain has emptied out on you. You might think that "Do I really want something?" or "Am I too greedy asking for these things?"
Regardless of what others think I believe that this is an exciting task for me. I will let my creative mind wallow in imagination. Reach for the unreacheable. Make the impossible be possible. Do the things my heart desires. My wants and my dreams. I can be true self in this activity.
To list a few would be:
I wish to
1 win in the lottery (LOTTO) for an amount of P50M in the 6/42 raffle
2 acquire a Honda CRV 2008 model, sparkle gray in color and not mortaged
3 have a Nissan Escapade Van 2008 model, bluish gray in color and not mortgaged
4 be able to buy from Rustans / Glorietta - Ayala all that I want without looking the price tag
5 have a 1 week vacation at Boracay Island. Stay in a hotel with the best service
6 have a month vacation in Hongkong includes visiting Disneyland. I will be tagging along my wife, daughter, mom, sisters and nephews
7 (i will continue this.....)

The Secret
Recently, I watched a DVD titled "The Secret". This DVD was given by my sister as a gift last Christmas. At first, I was not able to watch it due to tons of things to be done. Fortunately, I was able to spare a time at home. While I was resting, I thought of watching the DVD.
At first, I thought it was another type of inspirational documentary to improve yourself on sales, network marketing, customer service and all sorts of stuff. But then again, while I was watching the film, I found myself stuck with it and realized that it was like an eye opener.
The film talks about how to achieve the type of success you want to have in life. There are a lot of people involve in this film. It does not actually tells you that after watching the film, instantly you will get all the wealth in the world. It does not also tells you to buy some stuff for you to get rich and wealthy the easy way.
They talk about the law of attraction. They talk about how you should attract good things rather than bad things. You think its an easy task though. Think again.
They do not tell you to think instead they tell you to FEEL. Feel good and the universe will respond to you. They also don't tell that if you will do this you will get the result instantly. Results vary.
Just like I told you watching this film changed everything in me. The way I think, act and react. For now what I do is to get the level of realization on how to achieve my DREAMS.
